Horace Ames

   Landscape Designer

Horace brings us a wealth of knowledge and experience in Landscape Designer work. He has over 39 years of experience in the Landscaping Industry as a Landscape Designer. Horace worked for over thirty years as the Superintendent of Grounds for St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he was most recognized for his talents. He was awarded the Professional Grounds Maintenance Service award for several years, consecutively.

After leaving the hospital grounds supervisor position, he took some time off before joining Shrewsbury Nursery as a Landscape Designer, where he worked for ten years until they officially closed their doors last fall.

Horace is an ideal fit for our organization, as our Landscape Designer, complementing our enhanced landscape construction division. This couples with our new Mini-Excavator purchased last season and adding to the experienced crews, equipment and techniques allowing us to deliver quality landscape and hardscape projects to our customers.

Grounds Maintenance/Clean Up Crew: Involves grass cutting, string trimming, litter picking and sweeping up (powered blowers or broom); maintaining planted areas and beds. We cover all types of ground maintenance from mulching planted areas, undertaking turfing and seeding works, removing leaf and other yard wastes from property.

 

Construction Foremen: Experienced, professional foremen with residential homes, commercial businesses and even highways to prove it! Our Construction Foremen provide unpresidented landscaping construction experience for our business. Our construction experience alone, sets us apart from the rest. Giving us 24+ years of Construction experience and many, many properties we can tell you about. We are proud to have such a great staff of Construction Personnel on our Sunshine Team.

Our Construction Services; can be summarized as follows:

Hard Landscape  - Involves undertaking all types of demolition work, constructing stone or brick walls, retaining structures, plantings, timber edgings, pavers, stone paths, surfacings etc.

Soft Landscape  - Involves the cultivation and preparation of ground for turfing, seeding or planting; taking delivery, storage and planting of trees and shrubs.
